Today the construction of The Bishop Selwyn Chapel officially commenced with the dedication of foundation stone for the Chapel and the turning of the first sod. This journey of construction will continue for 12 months, with a further 2-3 months to complete the Chapel ceiling.  All this means we hope to be able to celebrate in the Chapel by Advent 2015. Today, His Grace, The Most Reverend and Right Honourable Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury, dedicated the Foundation Stone for the Chapel, he was joined by his wife, Mrs Caroline Welby and his Chaplain, The Reverend Canon Precious Omuku. Archbishop Philip Richardson, Archbishop Brown Turei, Bishop Kito, Bishop Jim, Bishop Ross and Archdeacon Carole were also here to celebrate along with the Mayor and representatives of our contractors, architects, and consultants and members of our Cathedral community.
