Chapel building work practically finished

Another milestone last Friday when Aspec Construction handed over the keys to the Bishop Selwyn Chapel. The construction of the Chapel is ‘practically complete’;  Aspec is working on final touches and will shortly be finished on site entirely.

This weekend we were thrilled to be able to take the congregations through the Chapel for the first and only time before it is shut down again for the gilding of the ceiling.

Thank you to Fearon Hay Architects for such a wonderful design, and thank you to Aspec and all the sub-contractors, consultants and fabricators for bringing it to glorious fruition!

Monday morning it was back to a construction site with a convoy of trucks arriving loaded with scaffolding. The perimeter of the Chapel is being wrapped in shrink wrap again this week to stop any dust or insects from entering during the gilding process.
